The CMBA-BC and the MBIBC are pleased to offer the MBI credentialing program. The MBI is a certification and credential standard available to registered mortgage brokers in British Columbia. It will allow qualified Mortgage Brokers to use the credential ‘MBI’ or Mortgage Brokers Institute after successful completion of the criteria required for the certification.

MBI certification will represent the industry standard of integrity and professionalism for British Columbia Mortgage Brokers. Please note that the MBI committee will meet regularly to monitor the program and to best ensure the MBI standard is appropriately maintained. The enhanced criteria for MBI certification is as follows:

• has successfully completed the MBI qualification course (the Ethics Course)
• has passed continuing education courses required for registration renewal through the Mortgage Brokers Institute of British Columbia
• is a member in good standing of the Canadian Mortgage Brokers Association – British Columbia
• is subject to the Association’s code of ethics and conduct
• as a condition of holding the MBI designation is required to be registered under the Mortgage Brokers Act of British Columbia

Your MBI designation will continue to be valid, so long as you:

1. Remain a member in good standing of CMBA-BC;
2. Continue to complete your license renewal education courses through MBIBC; and
3. Continue to abide by the CMBA-BC Code of Conduct and Ethics.
