The Canadian Mortgage Brokers Association – British Columbia (CMBA-BC) represents the province’s mortgage industry. It exists to support and enhance professionalism and ethical standards within the mortgage industry.

Incorporated in 1990, the Association is not-for-profit, and is based in Vancouver.

CMBA-BC offers educational and networking events designed to enhance professional development and relationship building within the industry and among clientele. The Association is governed by an elected Board of Directors, is managed by a CEO, and is supported by a Member Services Team.

Policies include the MBRCC Code of Conduct (Mortgage Broker Regulators’ Council of Canada), our Bylaws and our Code of Ethics.

Bylaw amendments are by special resolution, and voted upon at Annual General Meetings or Extraordinary General Meetings.  The Bylaw Committee is headed by the President of the Association.

An Ethics Complaint Procedure is also available for cases of misconduct.

The Mortgage Brokers Association of BC (MBABC) and other industry Associations from across Canada came together in 2015 to form the Canadian Mortgage Brokers Association (CMBA).

MBABC chose to adopt new branding to reflect this union, becoming CMBA-BC, with CMBA-Ontario and CMBA-Atlantic doing likewise.
