Both the federal and provincial governments provide programs and initiatives to assist first-time homebuyers. A broker who understands the availability, criteria, limitations, and process concerning these products will undoubtedly be able to serve their clients better. Some of these programs require certain steps to be taken as well for the individual or family to be eligible. Some of the programs require that no other assistance is used, for your client to remain eligible. We are fortunate to have Geoff Parkin, President of MBIBC, presenting the specific programs and how a mortgage broker might use them in assisting clients. Geoff’s extensive background as a broker and with credit unions gives him a deep understanding of these programs, and knowledge of how you can use them to win a deal, and keep more in your homebuyers pocket.
