Clinton Lee

Mr. Lee is a partner in the firm whose practice covers all areas of intellectual property, primarily in litigation. He has represented clients before the Federal Court of Canada, and the British Columbia Supreme Court. Although his practice is primarily related to litigation, Mr. Lee also has extensive involvement with both domestic and foreign patent, design and trademark filings and prosecution. As part of his practice, Mr. Lee is responsible for co-ordinating many of his client’s international patent and trademark portfolios and licensing concerns. Mr. Lee is also an adjunct professor for the University of British Columbia, Sauder School of Business’ graduate course in Intellectual Property and Business Strategy.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Lee was General Counsel (Intellectual Property) for one of Canada’s leading suppliers of home improvement products where he was responsible for coordinating the company’s extensive intellectual property portfolio and related litigation.

Mr. Lee obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, a Bachelor of Commerce and a Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria. He is a practicing lawyer before the British Columbia Bar, an Affiliate of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) and is a registered Canadian patent and trademark agent.

Samantha Gale
CEO, CMBA-BC

Samantha Gale is the CEO of the Canadian Mortgage Brokers Association – BC, and serves as one of the Executive Directors of its umbrella organization, CMBA. Samantha provides practice support to members and lobbies government and regulators on behalf of the industry. She is currently attending Osgoode Hall Law School part time, in pursuit of her Master of Laws, with a specialization in financial regulation. She obtained her law degree from UBC in 1991, and practiced real estate law prior to a 15 year stint at FICOM, where she regulated real estate development marketing, unlicensed real estate activity, certain strata property matters, and mortgage broker licensing.
