Reverse mortgages are now commonplace. This is not surprising as they provide useful financial solutions for your clients in certain circumstances, such as for some clients with real estate equity but little cashflow. Learn about how reverse mortgages work, who qualifies for a reverse mortgage, and the cost involved. Learn as to when a reverse mortgage might not be the best option for your client. All mortgage brokers should have a solid understanding of reverse mortgages as part of their toolbox in advising clients.
Our speakers, Lisa Alentejano and Simone McMillan, are well equipped to assist you in obtaining the needed information. Lisa is Equitable Bank’s BC Region Business Manager and Simone is the Reverse Mortgages Regional Channel Manager for BC and Alberta. Equitable Bank has consistently been a major player in this space since 1970.

Simone McMillan
Simone is one of just a handful of people in Canada with a 20+ year career in the reverse mortgage sector. Her career trajectory parallels the exponential growth and widespread acceptance of reverse mortgages today.
With her deep knowledge and experience in both the D2C (direct-to-consumer) and B2B (business-to-business with mortgage brokers) sides of the business, as well as with financial planners, banks, and credit unions, there’s not much about reverse mortgages she doesn’t know.
Simone is well equipped to help broker expand their reverse business in 2023.
Lisa Alentejano
Lisa has been in the mortgage industry for over 25 years, as a mortgage broker for 9 years and in the sales/service sector for the remaining. Her deep understanding of mortgage products and the mortgage process has helped her create success and long-lasting relationships with her broker partners. She is proud to represent a lender she considers challenges the status quo, offers creative solutions for the broker community, and helps today’s consumers with home ownership solutions.
