The world of mortgage brokering has become more complex for both brokerages and brokers. With the greater responsibilities and service demands come increased risks for the broker and brokerage. Having practical and sound E&O and Cyber Insurance is prudent, but it is not straightforward for brokers or brokerages to determine matters such as what mortgage brokering activities need to be covered, who needs to be covered, how much coverage is needed, and how far into the past or future will insurance arranged today cover. Derrick Leue
Derrick Leue is the President and CEO of PROLINK—Canada’s Insurance Connection, an independent insurance brokerage established in 1982. PROLINK offers tailor-made risk management and insurance solutions to Professional Associations, Canadian businesses, and individuals and has served the Mortgage industry for over 20 years.
Derrick is a registered insurance broker with an Honors degree in commerce from McMaster University and has been with PROLINK for 19 years. As the official Affinity Partner for Commercial and Personal Insurance for the Canadian Mortgage Brokers Association – British Columbia, Derrick and his team have been assisting CMBA BC members with their Errors & Omissions Liability, D&O Liability and Cyber insurance needs for over 12 years.

Jason Suttie
Jason was first elected to the Board of the Mortgage Brokers Association of British Columbia back in 2008 and served as a Director for the following seven years, including two terms as Treasurer and one as Vice President. He equally played an important role in the delivery of practical education courses for Mortgage Brokers.
After stepping away from the Board in 2015 to focus on his business and other commitments, Jason was asked to reprise his role as a Director in 2017 on account of an unexpected vacancy, to which he dutifully agreed and served until 2018.
Since then, Jason has continued to promote the mission of our Association and mentor the next generation of Mortgage Brokers.
