Leigh Walker

Founder, Lawrenson Walker Appraisals

Leigh brings over 28 years of experience in the real estate industry, beginning his career in real estate sales before joining BC Assessment and eventually transitioning into fee appraisal. In 2008, he purchased the firm he worked for, marking the beginning of Lawrenson Walker Appraisals.
A dedicated advocate for the appraisal profession, Leigh has volunteered extensively within both the appraisal and mortgage industries. His mission is to bridge the gap between these sectors through a commitment to customer service and education. In 2018, he co-founded BAREA – The Business Association of Real Estate Appraisers, a national network of appraisal firm owners focused on business growth, industry collaboration, and professional standards.
Leigh is deeply passionate about his family. Outside of work, he can be found snowboarding, mountain biking, traveling, or enjoying great architecture and design.

Christina Bhalla

Christina Bhalla, BA, DULE is the Chief Executive Officer of the British Columbia Association of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC-BC).  Since 2016, Christina has worked with the Association’s Board of Directors, as well as Provincial and National staff and volunteers, to manage the daily operations and strategic objectives for the AIC-BC, a professional membership organization that services approximately 1,200 Professional Appraisers.  She is an advocate for the appraisal profession and supports AIC-BC Members through the development and delivery of AIC programs and policies.  Christina brings a background in commercial real estate, previously working as an AIC Candidate Appraiser for Colliers International; she is currently studying to complete her Professional Appraisal (P.App, AACI) designation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada.  She was one of the founders of the Colliers Cares Foundation and served as Secretary and Vice-Chair during her tenure.  Christina was awarded for her business and community contributions as a 2014 Top 20 Under 40 Vancouver Island winner and was also recognized as the Black Press Women in Business Awards’ Rising Star in 2013.

Marci Deane 

Marci Deane is a Mortgage Broker and Owner with Ask Marci About Mortgages – Mortgage Architects based in North Vancouver and CMBA-BC Past President. She has worked in the financial industry for the past 30 years in banking, real estate and mortgage brokering. Marci is consistently a president club winner with Mortgage Architects and she received the top producer award for her team in 2021.
