Troy Resvick brings a deep understanding of his clients’ financial goals, shaped by an extensive background in banking and lending. Based in Langley, he entered the mortgage brokering profession in 2003 with the founding of Invis – Resvick & Associates Mortgage Advisors.
In the past two decades, Troy has become a trusted leader in the B.C. mortgage broker community, mentoring both clients and industry peers. In 2012, he was elected to the CMBA-BC Board of Directors and, in 2017, was appointed President of the association, serving for two consecutive terms.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the industry, Troy was honoured at the 2025 CMBA-BC Conference & Trade Show with the association’s highest honour: the prestigious Pioneer Award for Lifetime Achievement.
“Receiving the Pioneer Award was a deeply meaningful moment for me, both personally and professionally,” Troy tells CMBA-BC. “I’m truly grateful to the board, Carla Giles, and the entire CMBA-BC team for going above and beyond to make the day so memorable.”
The award was presented by fellow former CMBA-BC President Deb White, who is also currently Acting President of CMBA National.
“It was already special, but Deb’s incredibly gracious introduction really took it over the top,” Troy says. “I was doing just fine until she spoke — her words completely caught me off guard and genuinely choked me up, which doesn’t happen often.”
Receiving the honour provided Troy the opportunity to reflect on his professional journey and express gratitude to the mentors who shaped his path, particularly early on in his career when he was working as a Mortgage Underwriter at MCAP.
“I had the great fortune of being trained by June Young — a true force in our industry,” Troy says. “Without her guidance, I can say with complete certainty I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
“Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to cross paths with remarkable industry leaders — including Gord Dahlen, Feisal Panjwani, Ajay Soni, Karl Madsen, and Greg Nowik — all of whom generously shared their time, wisdom, and expertise,” he continues. “Their early mentorship had a lasting impact on my career and inspired my involvement in association life. I’m grateful to still call them friends after 25 years.”
As a committed industry leader, Troy continues to advocate for mortgage professionals and credit the colleagues who inspired his involvement.
“I’m immensely thankful to the many CMBA-BC board members, past presidents, executive members, and association staff who made my decade-plus of volunteer service so rewarding,” he says. “A special shout-out to Ajay Soni, Loren Hawkins, Karl Madsen, and Deenu Patel for their unwavering commitment to the association and to building an industry we can all be proud of. The accomplishments we celebrated were truly team efforts, and I’m proud of what we achieved together.”
The CMBA-BC recently had the pleasure of speaking with Troy about his journey to brokering, personal aspirations, and the most valuable piece of advice he has learned thus far.
1. Why did you pursue mortgage brokering?
I was seeking an entrepreneurial opportunity that would allow me to utilize the amazing training and sales experience gained from working at Surrey Metro Savings (now Coast Capital Savings) and MCAP, while pursuing my own goal of building another business.
2. What’s a skill you’ve always wanted to learn?
That’s a long list! Learn to speak Italian and Spanish and obtain my sommelier accreditation — a good pairing if there ever was one, right!
3. What’s your top travel destination in BC?
That’s easy… Penticton!
4. What book are you currently reading/What podcast are you listening to?
I am a big fan of Audible. Meditations by Marcus Aurelius is the current title.
5. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
“Eat the cake!” — Patricia Collins, RIP ♥
