SPEAKER

Shaun Jaberolansar

Shaun Jaberolansar is the In-House Legal Counsel and Manager of Standard Forms at the British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA). Prior to joining BCREA, Shaun spent several years in litigation before coming to his senses and transitioning to the world of organized real estate in British Columbia. When he’s not drafting contracts or reviewing standard forms, Shaun can be found chasing after his two toddlers and two dogs through the trails and parks of Vancouver.

SPEAKER

Ryan DeLuca

Ryan DeLuca is the Manager of Professionalism and Practice Initiatives at the British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA). With over 25 years in the real estate industry, he spent more than a decade as a licensee before transitioning into regulatory roles, where he focused on fraud, money laundering, and professional standards. At BCREA, he leads initiatives that support managing brokers, enhance industry education, and strengthen regulatory understanding. Ryan also teaches and certifies regulatory investigators across North America through the Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation (CLEAR). Outside the office, he enjoys traveling and exploring the mountains with his partner and their two dogs.

MODERATOR

John Woods

I was born and raised in Vancouver and spent over 20 years working in the arts, theatre and opera, living and working in cities across North American including Vancouver, Toronto, San Fransisco and Philadelphia. In 1990 I moved to Vancouver Island with my wife and young daughter and changed careers and became a Realtor.

Over the next nine years I worked with Miller Realty, McKinnon Hammond Real Estate and Remax of Nanaimo where I stayed until 1999 when I started my own business providing and installing security equipment for both commercial and residential customers.

I returned to the Real Estate world in 2002 but this time as a Mortgage Broker working for Essex & Kent in Nanaimo. I stayed with Essex & Kent until branching out on my own in 2008 and forming Fitzwilliam Mortgage Corporation. Today I am part owner of Fitzwilliam Mortgage Corporation, a Mortgage Centre Canada franchise, based in Nanaimo.

I have been a member of the MBA-BC (now CMBA-BC) from the day I became a licensed broker 24 years ago and was honored with the Individual Partner Award in 2020 at the last Conference prior to the pandemic.

I have been an active member of both the Nanaimo and Gabriola communities with Habitat Nanaimo, the Gabriola Chamber of Commerce, the Gabriola Ratepayers, the Downtown Nanaimo Business Improvement Association and the Old City Quarter Association, just to mention a few. I currently sit on the Gabriola Island Trust Housing Advisory Planning Committee.

Let’s grow together.
