Join us for an informative webinar that will explore the latest updates to CMHC programs and mortgage insurance rules. The following topics will be covered:
- A quick overview of the eligibility requirements and premium information for the CMHC Home Start program, which provides mortgage loan insurance for first-time homebuyers purchasing newly built homes.
- A summary of the mortgage reforms that took effect on December 15th, including an increase in the price cap for insured mortgages from $1 million to $1.5 million. These reforms also expand eligibility for 30-year mortgage amortizations to all first-time homebuyers and buyers of new builds.
- A focused review of the mortgage insurance rule changes effective January 15th, which allow homeowners to add secondary suites. We will discuss borrower, property, and policy requirements for this program, and there will be time for a Q&A session with our guests. We look forward to your participation!

Laura is based in the Interior of British Columbia, managing accounts across Western Canada. In her role, she is responsible for client training and outreach, and she collaborates closely with BC based lender head offices as their primary contact for CMHC.
